6 Tips to Stay Active at Home

6️⃣ Tips to Stay Active at Home

We’re all doing our part in social distancing by staying home right now. If you’re anything like me and are accustomed to having a schedule that keeps you moving on a regular basis, you might not be used to this new schedule. Here are 6 ways how you can continue to practice healthy habits and an active lifestyle from the comfort of your own home!

💖Stretch Your Body

You can get up whenever you like! Take a moment to stretch throughout the day. If you do a few arm, leg, and body stretches, you instantly feel more alert and awake.

💖Do a Virtual Workout

There are so many at-home workouts happening online, on Instagram, and free trials for apps. Use this time to continue doing what you love with an instructor who’s streaming online or maybe even try out a new workout!

I’m live-streaming workouts M-F and offering one-on-one virtual coaching. If you’re looking to stay active and continue your healthy habits during this time, I would love  to help you!

💖Drink Plenty of Water

If you’re not already in the rhythm of drinking water, this is a great time to form a new habit! Water helps energize, hydrate, and fuel you. It keeps your body functioning healthily and properly. Not to mention is great for your skin.

💖Go for a Walk

At a socially acceptable distance, of course! Getting some vitamin D outside and moving your body always feels really good. It's an instant mood booster!

💖Stand at Least Once per Hour

If you’re working from home, changes are you’re sitting a lot more than you usually would in a day. Try to stand once per hour. If you have an Apple Watch, you get the stand reminders once per hour. If you’ve ignored these notifications in the past— we’re all guilty of it— try standing! You can also set a gentle alarm for yourself each hour on your phone.

💖Continue Your Healthy Habits

It’s obviously tougher to do during this time with a lot of frozen and packaged food in your fridge right now, but try to continue or create new healthy habits during this time. Your body, attitude, and energy will thank you!
